BH Mechanical Labelers

Up until 2004, B & H's roll-fed labeler portfolio was 100% comprised of proven, mechanical labelers. Gears, sprockets, chains, belts and other precisely engineered mechanical components delivered the timing and synchronization required to label containers at hundreds of containers per minute.

While Marathon and its fully electronic drive train rapidly became our #1 roll-fed product line after 2004, B & H continues to offer two proven, workhorse mechanical labelers: the BH8000 series and the BH1600.

B & H continues to offer the BH8000 and BH1600 models for several reasons:

  • Proven Durability and Dependability: BH8000 and BH1600 labelers have proven themselves to be both durable and dependable, even in the most demanding production environments.
  • Change Part Compatibility: Customers that currently own and operate one or more of these models frequently prefer to purchase another labeler of the same model they currently own because the change parts for the units will be compatible and interchangeable.
  • No Switching Costs: Customers that currently own and operate one or more BH8000 or BH1600 labeler occasionally choose to avoid the switching costs associated with introducing a new labeling platform by buying a new version of the labeler model they currently own and operate. Typical switching costs associated with introducing a new labeling platform include training for operators and maintenance personnel, and spare parts inventory.

While these mechanical labelers remain a good option for some operations, the total cost of ownership associated with any mechanical labeler is substantially higher than B & H's Marathon line of roll-fed labelers.
